Family Totem

Hi there,

The ''crazy planning of the death that kills'' is almost COMPLETE. We feel it sounds ''almost finished'' since forever now, right?
This project is so important for us, it's hard to know when you have to stop, it's also difficult to be satisfied or even confident about your own work, it's never enough perfect in our mind, #fatalityoftheartist :).
In the mean time, it's been an eternity now that we are working on, and to be honest, we feel most of the time depressed, I guess it's normal. We can't wait to move forward on other exciting projects. Anyway, no time to complain, let's finish this for real!

To take a little break, I made few doodles in my sketchbook, Fabien needed an idea to model something new in 3D, and that's how our family totem has been created. Here a funny GIF of the working progress, I am impressed and happy by the result! Well done Fabien!! Can't wait to see the final render!

Le planning de la mort qui tue est bientôt bouclé. On a la sensation que ça sera bientôt fini depuis un bail, vous trouvez pas?Ce projet est tellement important pour nous, c'est dur de savoir quand ni ou s'arrêter, c'est aussi difficile de se contenter ou même d'avoir confiance en notre travail, c'est jamais parfait à nos yeux, #fatalitedelartiste :).D'un autre côté, ça fait une éternité maintenant qu'on travaille dessus, pour être tout à fait honnête, la plupart du temps ça nous déprime vraiment, j'imagine que c'est normal. On a juste hâte de passer à autre choses et entamer de nouveaux projets super chouettes! Bref pas le temps de se plaindre, finissons ce qu'on a commencé!!Pour changer un peu d'air, j'ai gribouillé dans mon carnet, Fabien avait besoin d'une idée pour modéliser quelque chose de nouveau en 3D, et c'est comme ça que le totem de notre famille est né.Voici un petit GIF rigolo du travail en cours, je suis impressionnée et contente du résultat! Bravo Fabien, hâte de voir l'image finale.On retourne travailler.A bientôt mes compagnons!

If everything goes fine, from May I will only have to work on animation while Fabien will work on renders.
Hard to believe that, but I think The End is quite close, tick-tock-tick-tock (in theory)!

Voici un petit second snapshot sur notre travail, un mix de 2D/3D. Que dîtes-vous de ça? :)

Si tout va bien, à partir de mai je n'aurai plus que de l'animation à faire tandis que Fabien travaillera sur les rendus.
Difficile à croire, mais je pense que La Fin est proche les gens, tic-tac-tic-tac (enfin on espère)!  
Merci encore pour votre patience et de continuer à nous suivre, on donne notre meilleur!

Someone's here?!

We are finally back after a too-long break! But back more motivated than ever.
We are working hard, and because we released already a trailer and many pictures, from now we decided to show you only snippets of the final renders, we don't want to spoil everything and let you the surprise when you'll watch the entire movie  :)
However, we will do our best to update the blog at least once per month until the final countdown.

Y'a quelqu'un ici ?!

Nous sommes enfin de retour après une trop longue pause! Mais revenons plus motivés que jamais.
Nous travaillons durement, et puisque nous avons déjà publié un trailer et de nombreuses photos, à partir de maintenant nous avons décidé de vous montrer que des bribes de rendu final, nous ne voulons pas tout gâcher et vous laisser la surprise quand vous regardez le film terminé :) ...
Cependant, nous ferons de notre mieux pour mettre à jour le blog au moins une fois par mois jusqu'à l'ultime fin.

Ps: Si tout va bien, cet été sera la fin (Oui oui Fabien! j'ai décidé, un point c'est tout).

Stand-by

Hi from London & Hej from Stockholm! :)

As you probably figured it out, the project is currently in stand-by (since last summer). Our friends and our family asked us why the movie is not over yet. Well, unfortunately we have been really busy for some reasons...
We already spent more than 2 years on this project now, and it's so long when I think about it, but once again, I was working the most of the time on the movie while Fabien was able to help me only during evenings and weekends until now.
Otherwise, we actually left our little working nest where the project is born, then we got married (hiphiphurray!), Fabien got a new job in Stockholm at Dice, and I had the opportunity to work in London at Prime Focus thanks to CG students award. That's the bright side I guess.
We try to work individually with distance, obviously it's not easy. I know, we don't really need to justify ourself, but it's a good way to clarify everything! We really love our project and want to finish it.
In January, everything will be settled down for good in Stockhom, and we hope to release the whole movie as soon as possible. We will work hard for this. I already know what we will post in the next update (teaaasing), so please, keep following us!

Comme vous l'avez probablement remarqué, le projet est actuellement en stand-by (depuis l'été dernier). Nos amis et notre famille nous ont demandé pourquoi le film n'est pas encore terminé. Eh bien, malheureusement, on a été vraiment débordé pour diverses raisons... 

Nous avons déjà passé plus de 2 ans sur ce projet maintenant, et ça commence à être long quand j'y pense, mais encore une fois, Fabien avait un travail et nous n'étions donc que 1 et demi sur le projet jusqu'à maintenant.

Sinon, nous sommes partis de notre petit nid de travail où le projet a vu le jour, nous nous sommes mariés (youpi!), nous avons déménagé, Fabien a obtenu un emploi à Stockholm à Dice, et j'ai eu l'occasion de travailler à Londres à Prime Focus grâce à CG students awards. C'est le bon côté des choses, je suppose. 

Nous essayons de travailler individuellement à distance, et de toute évidence ce n'est pas facile. Désolé pour ce long texte, nous n'avons pas vraiment besoin de nous justifier, mais c'est une façon de clarifier les choses et remettre les choses au point dans notre esprit! Nous voulons vraiment terminer ce projet qui nous tient très à coeur. En Janvier, tout sera réglé pour de bon, et nous espérons finir le film dès que possible. Nous allons travailler dur pour cela. Je sais dejà ce que je vais faire pour la prochaine up du blog (suspens), alors s'il vous plaît, continuez de nous suivre!

A lovely gift

A little update to thank my best friend : the very talented Maëlle Cheval, she is the biggest fan of La Lettre in the world. That's not the only reason I thank her, indeed she found an amazing thing for my birthday, look how cute is this airmail shape necklace! Each time someone thinks about our project, we are totally glad about it! One more time, thank you very much Maëlle, it's very sweet! ♥

Une petite mise à jour pour remercier ma meilleure amie : la très talentueuse Maëlle Cheval, c'est la plus grande fan de notre film dans le monde entier. Mais ce n'est pas la seule raison de cet article, en effet, pour mon anniversaire elle a trouvé un super cadeau, regardez comment ce collier en forme d'enveloppe airmail est mignon! À chaque fois que quelqu'un pense à notre projet, on est super content! Encore une fois, merci du fond du cœur Maëlle, c'est vraiment adorable! ♥
